The Birch family is an ancient family with records dating back prior to the Norman Conquest. Beginning with Rev. Jonathan Birch in Bakewell, England in 1730, the author has traced the descendants of three of Rev. Birch's sons down to the present time. Birch descendants are found in nearly every state in America, and also in Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium, Africa and South America.

Over 4100 individuals are presented in a format that details their family lineage and provides biographical family histories that will be of interest to Birch family members. Of particular interest is the 50 page biography of Rev. Thomas Erskine of Cynthiana, Kentucky, who is the ancestor of over 2,000 Birches in America, and the history of the brothers William John and Azim Birch of England, who migrated to New Zealand in the 1860s and are the ancestors of the Caccia-Birch families.

This book has been the compilation of records completed over 15 years and representing the contributions of genealogists and family members from all over the world. Only 200 copies are being printed and every family member will be pleased to have a copy for their own library and may wish to order a copy for their children or state historical society.
