Our Bosworth ancestors emigrated to Boston from Leichestershire County, England, in 1634, just 12 years after the Mayflower arrived. Their grandson married married a Mayflower daughter! We know each generation that followed, and this book centers on generations 7, 8, 9, and 10.
The letters allow us to step into the 19th century to observe the daily lives of Bosworth families in New York, Illinois and Iowa between 1860 and 1897. We become personally acquainted with our ancestors: one brings his family across New York on the Erie Canal, one takes us with him into the Civil War, and then an Iowa farm rises up from untilled prairie!
